REPORTS TO: Pressroom Manager
LOCATION: Blue Springs, MO
JOB TYPE: Full-time


Prepare loads of playing card stock in preparation for press use. Move completed printed loads to the Finishing Department. Assist on the press in a variety of support roles.


• Press Feeder Operation Procedures
The feeder will learn and master all aspects of the XL 75 Heidelberg feeder, troubleshoot problems as necessary to eliminate issues that may arise with the operation of the feeder, and will perform preventative maintenance as required to ensure smooth operation. Reads and performs work as assigned by supervisor.
• Card Stock Preparation
Examine job tickets and prepare playing card stock based on quantities necessary to meet production requirements. Stages ink to be used, and follows special instructions as listed on job tickets.
• Plate Crimping
Operates plate crimping machine to prepare plates to be used. Hang plate(s) to be used for a specified job run.
• Ink Changes
Complete ink wash up and ink change as directed by the operator.
• Quality Control
Inspect printed sheets for defects and alert operator upon discovery of any quality issues.
• Equipment Maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance on the printing press as directed. Assist operator with roller changes and repairs. Perform housekeeping duties as required. Performs patch, repair, and cleaning operations.

Supports the Press Operator during assigned shift and supports the team by being available to provide additional support, shift changes, etc. as needed.

• Must be organized and possess high level of ability to effectively manage paperwork.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
• Follow basic work instructions on prints.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

• Ability to visually inspect printed work.
• Previous printing press experience helpful but not required.
• Good math, verbal, reasoning and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift, bend and stop repeatedly during an 8 –hour shift.
• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time during an 8 – hour shift.
• Ability to comprehend basic mechanical operations.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality and dependability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during an 8 –hour shift.
• Between shift change you are responsible to communicate any issues, task update, or information that will help assist the next shift Press Helper.
• Ability to comply with procedures, rules and policies.
• Ability to wear GPI provided uniform shirts.
• Pre-employment drug screen.
