Working Bindery Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bindery Foreman to lead our bindery department. The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of bindery equipment and processes, as well as proven leadership and supervisory skills. This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to perform bindery tasks alongside managing and motivating a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation:
    • Proficiently operate a variety of bindery equipment, including but not limited to:
      • Folder
      • Cutter
      • Slitter/Creaser
      • Saddle Stitcher
      • Die Cutters (rotary and laser die cutter)
      • Laminators
      • Mail equipment including Inserter and Ink Jet
      • Drilling and punching machines
      • Shrink wrapping machines
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on bindery equipment.
  • Production Management:
    • Plan and organize daily workflow to meet production deadlines.
    • Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the bindery process.
    • Monitor and optimize production efficiency.
    • Maintain accurate records of production output and materials usage.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and train bindery personnel.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
    • Motivate and encourage teamwork.
    • Address employee performance issues and provide constructive feedback.
  • Safety and Housekeeping:
    • Enforce safety regulations and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
    • Promote a culture of safety awareness within the bindery department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bindery environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bindery equipment and processes.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain bindery equipment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
