JR1078576 Operations Supervisor
Broadridge is hiring! We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our team in Coppell.
This is an on-site role that will be assigned to a Broadridge location where you will work 100% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily insert operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met.
- Lead, coach, and develop hourly production staff, including training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
- Plan and assign labor based on daily workloads, staffing levels, and production priorities.
- Monitor machine performance, throughput, and downtime; troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate maintenance needs as required.
- Ensure materials (inserts, envelopes, paper stock, trays, etc.) are staged and available to prevent production delays.
- Enforce all safety policies, housekeeping standards, and compliance requirements.
- Perform quality checks throughout the shift to ensure accurate inserting, correct matching of materials, and proper mailpiece integrity.
- Track and report key performance metrics such as volume produced, scrap, rework, efficiency, and labor utilization.
- Investigate and resolve production errors, jams, and quality defects; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate with upstream and downstream departments (Print, Postal, Shipping, QA) to ensure smooth workflow.
- Approve timecards, manage attendance, and address performance or disciplinary issues in accordance with company policy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
- Ensure all jobs are properly set up according to job tickets, work orders, and client specifications.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and shift reports.
- Assist with onboarding and cross-training of employees to improve department flexibility.
- Operational Leadership: Ability to coordinate and guide teams across insertion and mail operations; steady decision-making during high-volume cycles.
- Workflow Management: Skilled in sequencing jobs, managing SLAs, prioritizing critical workstreams, and adjusting schedules when the day bends in unexpected directions.
- Quality Assurance: Strong eye for defects (print quality, folds, jams, mis-matches, machine behaviors), with the discipline to enforce documentation and corrective actions.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with production equipment such as inserters, and postage systems; capable of basic troubleshooting.
- Data & Metrics: Ability to interpret production dashboards, throughput data, waste reports, reprint causes, and operator performance metrics; comfortable with spreadsheets and production systems.
- Communication: Clear, steady communication with operators, leadership, maintenance, and support teams; timely escalation when schedules or SLAs are at risk.
- Problem Solving: Able to diagnose workflow bottlenecks, equipment issues, and process disconnects; capable of crafting practical, immediate solutions.
- Team Development: Experience training staff, cross-skilling operators, and providing constructive performance feedback.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of print-shop safety standards—lockout/tagout basics, paper/ink/chemical handling, machine-zone precautions.
- Documentation: Competence in writing shift reports, exception logs, incident summaries, and SOP updates.
Qualifications:
- Prior leadership or lead-operator experience, ideally supervising 5–20 employees across multiple shifts or zones.
- Experience working with SLA-driven clients, financial/healthcare mailings, or compliance-controlled environments (SOC, HIPAA, PCI) is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven operations with large daily volume swings.
- Familiarity with:
- Insertion equipment technology is helpful.
- Postal regulations and mailing standards
- Job tracking systems, shop-floor management tools, and ticketing/escalation systems
- Understanding lean principles (5S, waste reduction) is helpful.
- Strong follow-through—ensures tasks, fixes, and escalations don’t fall into the cracks.
- Collaborative mindset; works well across production, QA, maintenance, planning, and client teams.
- Dependable, consistent, and detail steadfast.
Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $65,000- $70,00.00 USD – Bonus Eligible
