Last week, The Mailing and Fulfillment Services Association (MFSA™) held its first post pandemic conference in beautiful Grapevine, Texas. PIA MidAmerica joined 75 other participants representing over 40 companies from across the nation at the “Broken Supply Chain” themed conference and golf tournament. We learned a lot and got to network with others in our industry and visit with some of our members.

The speaker line-up was amazing.  Pete Donovan of Top Gun Ventures shared how to create a customer centric business during the supply chain crisis. Tim Plunk of Tension Envelope and Don Clampitt of Clampitt Paper updated us on the paper crisis and gave us a view into the future. Michelle Zalewski of ALG Worldwide Logistics outlined multiple broken links within the global logistics supply chain; from driver shortages to limited availability of containers. A panel of business owners and executives representing companies ranging from $3 million – $300 million in revenue shared the creative ways they are finding and retaining staff. Sessions rounded out with Leo Raymond of Mailers Hub and Tom Glassman of Ricoh USA, mail experts and members of the USPS Mailers Technical Advisors Committee (MTAC). They gave us insight on many changes happening within the postal service and details on the planned continuance of postal rate hikes.

The MFSA has been meeting annually since the early 1950’s and serves commercial mailers, printers, fulfillment houses, and marketing production companies. The MFSA partners with PIA MidAmerica and other industry associations who share the goal of strengthening the commercial print and mail industry with a strong focus on solidifying its longevity for generations to come.  Membership is obtained by attending their annual conference.
