Election mail statement from postmaster Louis DeJoy

Aug. 18: Postmaster Louis DeJoy released a statement addressing concerns surrounding mail-in ballots and the efficiency of the United States Postal service during the pandemic. Specifically, he announced that "to avoid even the appearance of any impact on election mail, I am suspending [new postal initiatives] until after the election is concluded" thereby alleviating concerns
