Ovation Graphics Acquires Branch-Smith Assets

Daniel Hanson, president of Ovation Graphics, has announced that Ovation Graphics, a privately-held company, has purchased substantially all of the business assets of Branch-Smith Printing. Terms of the asset acquisition were not disclosed.

As part of its purchase, Ovation Graphics obtained the rights to the Branch-Smith name, continuing a 102 year-old tradition while concluding over 100 years of Branch family ownership.

“We believe there is significant inherent goodwill in the Branch-Smith name, and Ovation is honored to continue to use the Branch-Smith trade name while serving a growing field of clients locally and nationally from our Fort Worth headquarters,” said Hanson, who was also with Branch-Smith Printing for more than 14 years prior to the acquisition of its assets by Ovation Graphics.

Branch-Smith, the oldest printer in Tarrant County and the third oldest in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, had 2010 gross sales of $15.3 million and currently has 80 employees. Ovation is remodeling its 63,000-square-foot office and plant facilities at 120 St. Louis Ave. just south of downtown Fort Worth.

In the North Texas area, Ussery Printing, an Ovation Graphics affiliated company based in Irving, and Branch-Smith are among the most respected commercial printers in the market. Both rank in the top 20 commercial printing companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area according to the Dallas Business Journal’s annually published “Book of Lists.”
