Dee Bisel Selected as Kansas City Executive of Year
Dee Bisel of Minuteman Press in Lawrence, Kansas will be recognized as the Kansas City Executive of the Year at the PIA MidAmerica Graphex Awards Gala in Kansas City on May 10, 2012.
Bisel will be the 56th such executive honored with this award, which is presented annually to an industry leader who has shown exemplary skills in managing their company and giving back to the printing community.
“Dee is well deserving of this recognition, and more importantly, she was selected by her peers who recognize the skills and dedication it takes to run a successful small business,” said Joe Polance, PIA MidAmerica President.
Bisel began her career with General Printing & Paper in Topeka, Kansas as a sales manager and landed a position with Hallmark six years later. She spent the next 15 years with Hallmark where she had responsibility for more than 800 employees as Hallmark’s first female production manager. Since 1993 she has been the owner of Minuteman Press in Lawrence, Kansas.
An active community member and volunteer, Bisel serves on several boards and is a Trustee and Building Committee Member of the Lawrence Heights Christian Church. She is also on the Executive Committee of PIA MidAmerica as Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Bisel received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Washburn University in 1970. Later that year she married her high school sweetheart, Ron. They have been married 41 years and have two children. Daughter Kristi, husband Tom and grandchildren Evelyn and Grant live in Leawood, Kansas. Their son Ryan, his wife Adele and granddaughter Phoebe, live in Norman, Oklahoma.
